The New Year is upon us, a time where we stop to think about the year just gone, and to make resolutions for the year ahead.
For this reason, we’re providing you with USN’s 8 top tips to help with your New Year Fitness Resolution…
1. Be Realistic
This is possibly the most important thing to keep in mind; you need to set yourself realistic goals. It’s easy to get carried away and shoot for the stars, which to a certain degree there is nothing wrong with, but making short term, realistic goals can be extremely beneficial.
Short-term goals not only help you to keep track of your progress, they also give you that extra motivation once you achieve them. Whereas if you go all in straight away not quite reaching your aspirational goal can have an extremely detrimental effect on said progress.
Put a lot of thought into what it is you want to be, visualise what you want and when you want it. It makes your planning and training plans a lot easier to outline
At the beginning of each week sit down and make a plan. Plan your meals to keep track of calories and to reduce the danger of needing a last minute fix in the form of convenience fast food route. Also know what’s coming up during the week and what slots you’ll have to exercise so you can get full value from the time available. It’s also important to have some time for socialising, friends and fun; you know what they say about all work and no play!
4. Take a picture
Have full length pictures taken at intervals so you can track the progress you are making and inspire yourself to keep going.
5. Don’t Stress
If you miss a goal, miss a training session or have the occasional set-back don’t worry, it happens to everyone.
The important thing is how you can pick yourself up from these slips, showing character and persistence will grow during your New Year challenge.
Of course USN can make your journey that little bit easier! For those of you with limited time to plan and prepare nutritious and delicious meals, USN offers a variety of supplementation for whichever goal you have.
From Weight Loss, Lean Muscle Building, Body Building and Endurance, we provide a wealth of premium supplements so you have the confidence in us that you’re getting only the best supplements.
7. Challenge Yourself
Your progress shouldn’t be easy! You know when you’re not pushing as hard as you can and at the end of the day you’re not fooling anyone but yourself. If you’re not breaking sweat or you know you could be pushing harder then push. Making gains and pushing on is vital during your challenge, don’t let your focus waver, you’ve set your challenge, now it’s up to you to make the difference.
8. Reward Yourself
When reaching milestones mark them with a reward – whether that’s a doorty burger or a new pair of shoes it’s important to mark each occasion. Acknowledging your accomplishments reminds you of the progress you’ve made and gives you a self pat on the back.
